Our work

Highlights of our work include:

Founded the Sam Pegram Scholarship at York University, providing a full scholarship to a deserving individual to complete the LLM in International human rights law and practice at York University.

Provided funding for Sir Tom Finney Soccer Centre for their incredible work with refugees in Sam's home town of Preston. Providing a vital social space for refugees to connect through football. (pictured)

Provided funding for uniforms at Squash Dreamers, a small charity in Amman, Jordan that provides a safe space for young girls to thrive through sport, education and play.

Provided funding to allow individual career progression at Yoga & Sport Refugees, a charity based in Greece which supports refugees physical and mental wellbeing through Yoga, Sport and wellbeing activities.

Plus, much more! This has all been achieved through a combination of our own initial funds, and also fundraising from our events and also Sam's friends raising funds in Sam's memory. Together, we can do even more!

Our aims

We have ambitious plans to keep progressing and carrying Sam's Legacy even further.

We are currently working on a project, where we hope to build a community centre in Jordan to support People on the Move and their host community.

Support early career humanitarians through scholarships, mentorship and support for unpaid internships

Continue to host in person and online events, furthering our a sense of community and creating new memories in Sam's name. We will continue  support People on the Move through funding NGOs in York, Preston and Jordan.

Our Events

We host a yearly 'Peggy's Online  Pub Quiz", with donations causes changing year to year. Sam loved a quiz, and it's a great way to get people together- old friends and new.
The quiz is usually held around Sam's birthday,  February 20th, however the 2025 pub quiz will be a little later this year... Stay tuned!!

Our other flagship event is the Sam's Legacy football tournament, which ran 2022 and 2023, with plans to return this year. The tournaments were a resounding success, and brought the community and Sam's friends together, smashing fundraising targets on both occasions.

We are always looking for new ways to celebrate Sam's life, bring people together and raise money for brilliant causes- If you have any suggestions, please let us know if you have any suggestions or would like to help in any capacity.
