About Sam

Sam was an extraordinary person who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Known for his kindness, compassion, and infectious humour, Sam had a rare ability to brighten lives and make people feel valued. Sam was a vibrant, loyal, and loving friend, family member, and colleague. .

From his early years, he was described as having "not a bad bone in his body" and grew into someone deeply committed to making the world a better place. He had diverse interests—from football and running to quizzes and a deep love of learning. His passion for human rights, justice, and equality drove his remarkable career.

After studying International Relations at Leeds University, the Arab Spring ignited his determination to make a difference. In 2015, at just 21, he moved to Amman, Jordan to work with grassroots NGOs helping refugees, eventually earning a scholarship to study international human rights law at the University of York.

In 2019, he joined the Norwegian Refugee Council in Geneva, ready to further his mission of positive change.  Tragically, his life was cut short when Flight ET302 crashed in March 2019, taking 157 lives. Though his time was brief, his impact was profound, and we are endlessly proud of him. We aim to continue Sam’s Legacy through this charity, read more to find out what we do and how you can get involved.
